Gregory Distribution Limited

The Axscend system provides the ability to simply track our trailers without the frills of other products. The product is very easy to install, simple to use and provides exactly the information that we need at the required intervals we anticipate the product will result in a much more effective utilisation of the trailer fleet.

The challenge

Gregory Distribution Limited (GDL) primary aim was to gain full visibility of their trailer fleet enabling them to maximise its fleet’s efficiency. Having several depots throughout England and Scotland GDL were also interested in deploying a system that assisted in scheduling the trailers maintenance programme efficiently.

Implementation and success

After installing the GPS units the immediate gain was the ability to check which trailers had not significantly moved within the last 24-hour period and the number of days the individual trailer had remained stationary. This data highlighted the areas that required improvements and gave GDL the ability to analyse the productivity of its fleet.

Having the relevant location data at their fingertips GDL was able to increased trailer usage and operational effectiveness across the fleet. This greater control lead to business profits being maximised and GDL having the leading edge over its competitors.
