Taygroup
Axscend is proving to be a good investment. This system has delivered significant improvement to Taygroup Plc and it has given us greatly improved control over our trailers. Tracking our trailers has helped us to maximise the planning and management of our fleet maintenance. We installed 300 tracking devices and were up and running after 2 weekends.
Mick Turner, Group Fleet Engineer
The challenge
Taygroup Plc were determined to get a tighter control over their trailers and so in March 2006 they put the project out for tender to a number of tracking based companies.
Implementation and results
Once Taygroup had decided upon their preferred supplier the project was quick to start. All 300 trailers were installed over 2 weekends and were their positions "on-line" in an instant. Taygroup gained the visibility and control they were looking for, allowing transport managers to make the right operational decision.
Taygroup Plc commenced trading in 1993 and now operates in excess of 300 vehicles from 6 UK locations offering a delivery service from 1 pallet to a full load together with a new state of the art Head Office and VNA Warehouse with a capacity of 25,000 pallets in Biggleswade.
