IP67 rated polycarbonate enclosure 4" x 11" x 1"

Tough environmental conditions along with a need for a device to be quickly and easily installed, providing unattended, multi-year operation has presented some unique challenges for Trailer Management system developers.

The GPS device that is fitted to the trailers is battery operated, self contained and completely wireless optimised for use on non-powered assets such as trailers. Management of your trailers is done online using an interface that is specifically designed to be super user friendly and highly functional. Allowing user to really "get to grip" with their trailer fleets. In today`s climate you have to look for cleaver ways of getting the most from your trailer fleet, maximising the time trailers spend on the road and ensuring the basics such as trailer services are done effectively and on-time.

How it works

GPS co-ordinates of devices are gathered using a network of Low Earth Orbit satellites - with coverage extending across the globe. This simple yet versatile device installs in minutes and is configurable to provide location or status reports based upon a number of variable parameters, such as time of day, time interval or motion detect. It can also be configured to monitor up to five external alarm inputs, for example temperature or door status

1) GPS or alarm data is received by the device on the trailer.
2) Tracking device sends data to the satellite network.
3) Satellite network forwards data to the Ground station.
4) Ground station sends trailer location to Axscend secure servers.
5) Trailer locations are displayed on the web.

Designed to survive

Axscend's GPS device has been designed to survive harsh environmental conditions, it is cased in a tough, IP67 rated polycarbonate enclosure. Internally, full design consideration has been given to each electronic component employed. Indeed, Axscend's GPS device will survive and operate across the full automotive temperature range of - 40C to + 85C without any significant capacity loss from the hybrid lithium thionyl battery.

Standards and Certifications

The GPS device has been independently tested and has approvals for Society of Automotive Engineers (www.sae.org) and US Military test standards, including:

SAE J1455
(Society of Automotive Engineers, practices for electronic equipment design for heavy trucks)
pressure wash
random vibration
operational shock
dust
sand
MIL STD-810 (US Military test standards)
