Asda delivers more efficiently to store network
Asda has selected moving-deck double-deck trailers from Cartwrights to deliver ambient food more effectively to its store network.
Already in use for its depot-to-depot internal trunking, 68 double-deckers are now in use in the store delivery fleet. Specifications such as direct-drive hydraulic deck operation and pallet and roll-cage loading to either deck increase efficiency of loading and unloading, while fuel efficiency is improved with Cartwrights Cheetah air-kit fitted to each trailer.
All operators with a haulage fleet are looking for ways to improve fleet efficiency. Alongside selection of new trailers during fleet upgrades, hauliers can also identify efficiencies by installing GPS trailer tracking devices such as the Axscend tracking device, to monitor and optimise trailer usage.
